No Really... its Go Time

Now its just starting to get silly. These psycho liberals are literally going to try to ram everything through. In case you missed it... Obama will try to renew the assault weapons ban.

Go Time

The bill that will start the shooting is already in congress. And what type of bill is it? Well... here's the description:

"To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes."

Will this get rammed through? If it does get rammed through... will it stand up in court? Veryily I say unto thee... It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if SCOTUS will overturn it. If congress passes the Bill, its time to excersize our revolutionary right to free ourselves of this pathetic tyrany of incompetence.

Every problem American citizens face today has been created, or exaserbated by government.

The line is officially drawn in the sand.
Obama Speaks... Dow Dives...

So... The Muloto Messiah struts out before congress and the nation... He's gonna save us all. He's gonna cure cancer... he's gonna get us universal health care... he's gonna get us birth to cubical education... he's promising every woman her very own obsessed sparkly vampire. You boys hoping for owls and wands are shit out of luck. I mean that would just be irresponsible spending.

Imagine my suprise this morning when the Dow dropped 150 points at the opening bell. Ok well.. you're right.. I wasn't suprised. I was chuckling to myself all day yesterday about how bad the market was going to tank after Obama's excersize.

Obama has attempted to mimic Lincoln in as many ways as possible. I'm starting to think I may not be suprised if his presidency follows Lincolns far more closely than he imagines.

If your ears are open... you've heard what I've heard. Things are stirring folks. I haven't heard this kind of talk since the mid 90's... and this time... there's a crappy economy and a nation of desperate people to feed the anger.

I am inclined to wonder if america's awkward stage is not coming to an end.

I Would Love to Take Credit For This

but alas... I did not write it. What follows is the work of another... a fantabulous fellow who has in the past authored a gloriously entertaining and insightful blog. He's not written in a while and thinks himself rusty. I can't say that I agree with that assesment. I'll let you decide:

What's check kiting and who does this heinous and illegal thing?

Just about everyone. It's Thursday night and you're out of diapers. You don't get paid until tomorrow but you know the check won't clear until later, so you go ahead and right a check that's hot *right now*even though you'll be good for it by time it clears your bank in a few days.

You just kited a check.

In the jargon that time between when you produced a promise to pay, and the time it will be paid is knownas the "float." And it is the float that makes it all work. It's that time that allows you to get your house in order and produce the money that you said would be there.

When you get really nifty with check kiting you don't trouble yourself with diapers. You simply write yourself checks across two different accounts and deposit them in the opposite bank. Each bank credit's your account *right now* even though the check won't clear for awhile. And that allows you to grow your money. Just keep writing ever larger checks to yourself across both accounts ahead of when the checks have begun clearing and you'll see your bank balance soar.

Just one little catch. If each account started with $100, then when you get tired of writing checks for no reason and call it quits... the accounts will end with $100. No matter if you got their balance up toa cool million or so; there's still only $100 and a boatload of accounting fraud. And if you dare to pull money out of this scheme it will collapse. It is a Ponzi scheme and it's growth is strictly self-generated. Pull any money out and the series will stall or collapse outright. Yank $40 out? Wreck your apparent net worth and come out the other side with 60 bucks.

Not withstanding that it's a auto-Ponzi, it's illegal because you may have a net worth of a $100,000 that is only $100 in reality. That doesn't prevent you from cashing out and making off with the proceeds of the accounting error. With good reason this kind of fraud is often a felony. So the next question is: Is there any way you could legitimately makemoney off this deal? Can you wind it up and utilize your net worthfor a gain without screwing you or the bank?

In fact there is. Roll that thing up nice and tight so you have a large balance going. Then finance someone else's mortgage. You buy the deed outright and collect payments for the mortgage from the new lucky homeowner. Now quick! Sell the deed to someone else to service the mortgage.

Deposit the proceeds fast enough and you can cover all the checks that haven't cleared yet. If you were quick and deadly you'll get it done in time and make some coin as a bonus. Now you're not a criminal. Now you're a bank. Unless you're not quick and deadly enough; then you're just Citibank.

Lies and Damned Lies

"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valueable, a most sacred right, a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world."

"This country with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing governemnt, they can exercize their contstitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right, to dismember or overthrow it."

Who said these things? What brilliant proponant of self determination said these things? Why none other than Honest Abraham Lincoln.

Wife Worship

Its an odd topic for a friday night... but I want to talk about one of the cancers in our society. It goes down to the very core of what makes human civilization go... the family... and even beyond that to the core of the family... the relationship between man and woman.

I want you to think back to all the stupid romance scenes you've been exposed to. I want you to think about the love songs you've heard. All to often... virtually every single time.. the climax of these angles is a male finally professing his undieing love for a female. The male, always completely humbled... comes to the female and tells her how he would treat her if he had her. He tells how he'd make her breakfast in bed every day... and lists off some specifics about how she would like it. He says how he'd spend every minute trying to show her how much he loves her... in short... he tells her he would worship her.

That is what females grow up hearing that love is. When a man worships a woman... that's love. When a woman worships a man... that's abuse... but lets not get side tracked just yet...

Let's examine just how destructive this model is. Setting aside the fact that it reduces men to useless castrati... it also destroys the family.

Simple. Because if a man is busy worshipping a woman... its impossible for him to worship the Lord. I want you to think back now to the Bible. How exactly do husbands treat their wives there? Its a far cry from what we pound into mushy brains of teenagers in our society.

So.. according to the "experts" inflation would rise .1% in January. It actually rose .8%... according to them. Of course 6 months from now they'll revise those numbers again... and their initial prediction will even be more wrong.

The point is... for the first time... they are admiting something is happening on the inflationary front. That doesn't mean its time to panic... but it is the sign a lot of us were looking for.

You can bet when a Keynesian economic group starts releasing info about increasing inflation they are scared. Very scared indeed.

And while we're talking about it... can someone explain why we should trust anyone that is off by 800% to even measure inflation.. much less predict it?

Keynesians Are Morons

You must understand that the vast majority of the talking heads are keynesian. That is.. they subscribe the few remaining theories postulated by John Maynard Keynes that have not quite been 100% proven incorrect just yet.

Now the keynesians describe a recession like this... "demand no longer equals productive capacity because people have started storing up large cash reserves."

So... recessions are bad... and they are what happens when companies are making stuff that people aren't buying.. because those bad people have decided to save some of their money.

Out of curiousity... Do you remember any massive rash of unified saving among your friends and family recently? Did the whole world recently decide to start saving money all at the same time? Of course not. The very idea is assinine. Never the less...

Since that is what they believe the problem is... they believe someone has to step in and buy the stuff that the public isn't buying... lest the capacity go to waste and companies start laying people off.

Ok... lets put it in common terms.

Lets say GM decides that what people really want are not cars at all... but motorized unicycles. They invest millions in retooling.. and produce thousands of motorized unicycles... which no one buys... because nobody wants motorized unicycles.

All of that capital investment was wasted by GM.. and now there is a deficit between what GM has produced.. and what people actually buy.

To the Keynesian... or as they are more commonly referred.. morons... this is a horror. The Government MUST step in and buy all the excess unicycles. That is the only thing that will prevent a recession. So tax money is taken out of the private sector where it was going to good competetive companies making good competetive products... and given to GM... so GM can keep making crap that no one wants.

Compare this to the Austrian view... which is... GM did something stupid. GM dies... and the productive capacity is replaced by a company that's not nearly as stupid. Meanwhile the money that would've otherwise been spent on GM cars... go saved.. and therefore can be spent on the products of the new competitive company.

Now you tell me... which view makes sense... and which view is the one championed by Harvard Business School?

Fire Every Teacher. Hang Every Bureacrat.

So... remember when you were at school... and someone would do something against the rules... do you remember how it was handled? Ya know.. the teacher comes over and gives someone a talking to... and if they press the matter.. they are sent to the principle's office right? Usually the offenders were made to write lines... or swatted with a paddle in severe cases... and in the worst cases.... they were suspended.

But no... that's not now they handle it now. No now... if you're caught texting in class... and lie about it.. the cops come and arrest you for disorderly conduct.

I say this in all seriuosness... If you have a young child.. and you are considering surrendering him or her to these people... then you are either evil... or ignorant.

And Now For Something Completely Different

But fret not... we're still talking about hoaxes on a grand scale. In fact... this one is far more relevant to most of you than any ridiculous claims of moon walking... and its a claim that has been foisted on millions... no... billions is a far more accurate term.

Today we're going to talk about the biggest hoax ever pulled... Tithing.

Christian Tithing is completely and totally unbiblical. Its arguably the biggest practical difference between the Eastern and Western churches. The Eastern Church does not tithe.

I'm going to share some very pointed facts:

1) Jesus didn't tithe.
2) None of Jesus' followers tithed.
3) Paul wrote 10 books to the gentiles. He never tells them to give money to anyone.
4) The only law outside the 10 commandments retained by the modern church is the Tithe
5) Money was not tithed in the Bible. Only livestock and crops.
6) The modern tithe doesn't even remotely resemble the law moses laid out in any fashion.
7) The church knows all of this.

I have always been skeptical of the tithe. For one.. you have a group of people claiming to be the sole authority on translating the law... and that law just happens to tell us to give them 10% of our money. See where I'm going? It sounds a lot like a scam to me.

Of course, back when it was first started the Bible was not available to the public. Copies were beyond rare... and precious. Now? Not so much. Now anyone with half a brain can take the time to read the relevant verses.. and its plain as day that there is no biblical basis for christians tithing 10% of their monetary income.

Lets look at some examples of tithing in the Bible... how about Deuteronomy for starters?

Deut. 14:22-29, "Thou shall truly TITHE all the INCREASE of thy SEED, that the field brings forth year by year."
"And you shall eat before the lord your God, in the place which He shall choose to place His name there, the TITHE of thy CORN, of thy WINE, and of your OIL, and the FIRSTLINGS OF THY HERDS and of thy FLOCKS: that thou may learn to fear the Lord thy God always.

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set His name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:

Then shall thou turn it into MONEY, and bind up the MONEY in your hand, and shall go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:

And thou shall BESTOW THAT MONEY FOR WHATSOEVER YOUR SOUL LUSTETH AFTER, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for WHATSOEVER YOUR SOUL DESIRES: and YOU shall eat there before the Lord thy God, and THOU shall rejoice, THOU, AND THINE HOUSEHOLD.

And the Levite that is within thy gates, thou shall not forsake him; for he has no part, nor inheritance with thee.
At the end of three years thou shall bring forth all the TITHE of thine INCREASE the same year, and shall lay it up within thy gates:

And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the STRANGER, and the FATHERLESS, and the WIDOW, which are within thy gates, shall come, and SHALL EAT AND BE SATISFIED; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of your hand which thou doest."

Now... do you see anything in that requires anyone to give anyone money? No. Food? Yes. Of course you need to give food... because the tithe is to a be a feast! Its given to everyone... to strangers... to the poor... the needy... and to YOU. And if you cannot attend the appointed place of the feast... what does it say you are to do? It says you are to sell it... and go buy what you want! Strong drink people! It says to sell the food you were going to tithe, and go buy booze!!!

The baptists among us are now officially pissed off.

See? This is why the Bible is so awesome... because it almost never says what you think it says... and what it actually says is always far better than what you've been told. And no.. that is not the only example. The tithe is described in verse after verse as increase from the land. Oils from trees.. nuts from trees.. crops... livestock... but not fish.. and certainly not money.

Jewish fishermen paid no tithe. Neither did Jewish Carpenters. Neither did jewish bankers... unless they happened to also own farm land.

But hey... I'm not against tithing completely... if a levite priest ever shows up I'll be glad to give him 10% of the tomatoes in the garden.

In closing I would also point out that the Eastern Church never adopted this insane practice... in fact.. they mock it... and rightly so.

Now for the fun part... ya wanna know what the real kicker is? The Catholic Church KNOWS this is incorrect. From the Catholic Encyclopedia:

"As the Church expanded and various institutions arose, it became necessary to make laws which would insure the proper and permanent support of the clergy. The payment of tithes was adopted from the Old Law... The earliest positive legislation on the subject seems to be contained in the letter of the bishops assembled at Tours in 567 and the [canons] of the Council of Macon in 585."

There you have it. They needed money to support their bureacracy and decided to dust off an old law that could be suitably reworked to meet all their needs and then some. The lie has been thoroughly entrenched ever since.

So have some fun... go ask you're minister to preach on the truth on tithing. See how well he takes it when you ask him to show you where Paul advised the gentiles to tithe.

Hey Y'all... Watch This!

Take a good look at this picture. That is an illustration of the Apollo missions. NASA apparently drempt this up... and presented it as a reasonable and realistic plan... without snickering to much.
Launch the rocket... get into orbit.. then at precisely the right time.. refire the engines... again.. for just the right time... and slingshot around the earth to gain speed... then its off to the moon.
With slide rules...
Seriously the Apollo space craft had less computing power than a 1990s casio watch. But you expect me to believe... that these same people in this same agency still manage to kill 14 people so far... with today's technology? Doing far less complex missions?
The space shuttle can't reliably go into EARTH'S orbit and back... but you want me to believe that a 1960's barn metal jalopee... built with all the precision HAND TOOLS can possibly provide... made it to the moon... several times?
People... it was an honest to God miracle they ever got one of these things into orbit at all. I mean seriously... do you know what these things were made of? Aluminum. Lots of aluminum... with rivets! Rivets I shit you not.
Today... we could built one of these bad boys... brand new for probly... oh what... hundred grand? 2 hundred grand?
Why hasn't anyone else done it?
There isn't a 2nd world country on the planet that doesn't have the resources to recreate the apollo program. Why hasn't brazil taken a tiny fraction of their budget and sent a couple soccer players to the moon?
I'll tell ya why...
Because its never been done before... and no one... no one has figured out how to actually do it yet.
The Forcast for 2009

Its shitty... very very shitty indeed... and I shall explain why.

Right now as we speak the 2009 federal budget deficit is at 500 billion... and that does not include anything from TARP... or the soon to be past "stimulus". It doesn't include all manner of costs of the current war which are funded on the fly.

What I'm saying is... in 2009 the federal government is going to spend 2 trillion dollars more... at least... than it collects. That 2 trillion dollars will have to be borrowed... and since we already owe 5 trillion... and the rest of the world is in the same pathetic state we are... its quite clear that the "lending" will be done by the Federal Reserve Bank.

It will "lend" this money to the federal government by "monetizing" the debt. That's what they call it when they print money from thin air. The government wants to spend it... so they literally print up how ever much they need and call it a day.

This is new money. 2 trillion dollars of new money.

I want you to ask yourself... what would happen to the price of gold if 2 trillion ounces of the stuff suddenly found their way into the market? You're right. It would drop like a stone. Gold would be worth less than silver.

Now... what do you expect is going to happen to your dollar when they print up 2 trillion new ones?

This is compounded by the fact that GDP is actually shrinking. We're producing less. So the money supply should also be shrinking... in order to maintain the value of the dollar. But no.. we're doing the opposite. We're literally destroying the dollar.

This is how a big recession turns into a Great Depression.

This is how financial systems die.

How will it effect you specificly though? Prices on everything will go up. Way up. They'll double. They'll more than double... because each of your dollars will only buy what .50 cents will buy today.

There is no getting around this. There is no stopping it. This is not a prediction. This is fact.

If you have cash assets... get rid of them. Convert them to something tangible. Gold or silver will go up in price as the dollar's value goes down. You will be protected to a point. The time is now people. You should be planning for the bad times to come with your family. Very few of us are going to be able to make it on our own during these times... fewer still will thrive.

Most will be forced to pool resources... to improvise... to do without.

Buy a pressure cooker.. learn to can... start as large a garden as you can.

If you know nothing about any of this... there is a book called Country Wisdom and Know-how. Go buy it and start doing for yourself. For a few months it may be a fun hobby. A few months later than that... you'll be damned glad you learned from the experience and made all your mistakes when they didn't matter so much.

Time to get to work folks.

Calling for the Bones

The question is at hand... Where will America be in 2015? In the old days... in the old country... the viking kings would summon the Angel of Death... a prophet of sorts... who would consult the bones... and read the future in them.

These days we're not quite so creative... these days... we can simply look back to history and see what's happened before.

So lets see... In 1929 there was a huge stock market crash... and in response the Hoover admistration passed a bailout bill... then FDR came along... and ramped up spending to never seen before levels... in an all-out effort to create jobs and stimulate the economy.

In 2008 we saw a stockmarted crash... we saw an everything crash... and Dubya's administration passed the TARP bailout bill... and now... Obama's adminstration is about to ramp up spending to never seen before levels... in an all-out effort to create jobs and stimulate the economy?

Let me offer a quote for your consideration... Franklin Roosevelt's Treasury secretary, Henry Morgenthau, addressed Congressional Democrats in May of 1939:

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong ... somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises ... I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... And an enormous debt to boot!"

So Much for the Back Alley Argument

Once again we're faced with a story about an abortionist about to be tried for murder... because he couldn't even competently kill an infant in the prescribed legal manner.

I can't help but notice that the abortionist in question had a restricted medical license...which was being ignored.

Aren't we reliably told that Roe v Wade prevents this kind of thing? Roe supposedly has resulted in clean utopian murder facilities where women can sing Spice Girls songs while murdering infants without uncomfortable emotional entanglements... you know.. like thinking about the fact that its actually a baby.. and not a frog.

Remember as you read the story... the baby that was murdered was 23 weeks old. That's 14 weeks from being term... and kids are born at that gestation every day in hospitals all over the United States. They are growing up to lead normal lives with no complications what-so-ever.

That's not a tadpole. That's a fully formed... still maturing baby.

These murders should hang. All of them.

no... no seriously...

Ok sorry.. I'm going to blog about this... no really I am... I just..

Sunday, February 01, 2009

This is for you.

Huge shiney things are notoriously difficult to photograph... so I suppose these will have to do. Huge is really not an accurate term... the thing is so stupifyingly large that typing while wearing it is quite nearly impossible.

Of course... I will not be taking it off.
